Environ® Skin Care range is effective for the face and body because it incorporates a multi-pronged attack against the visible signs of aging, problem skin, photo damage and other skin concerns. The formulations are powered by Vitamin A and highly active antioxidant ingredients. Environ employs the “step-up” in treating skin health to avoid any adverse reactions that can cause skin damage.

Chances are, if you are not applying Vitamin A cream each morning and evening, your skin is likely to be deficient of this essential vitamin. The skin cells treat vitamin A differently than most other vitamins and require it to pass through different receptors to be allowed entrance to the cell itself. Starting with a high dose of Vitamin A can overwhelm your skin with Vitamin A leading to a retinoid reaction. A retinoid reaction can manifest as redness, dryness, or even a slight breakout. This is your skin's way of showing that it has more vitamin A than it can process.

Environ recommends that you start on the first level so that you can gradually introduce vitamin A back into the skin and are likely to avoid any irritating reaction. Once the skin is used to the starting levels and has had a chance to create additional receptors to allow even more vitamin A into the cell, you can step up to the next level.

The epidermis is our only protection from the harsh environment, so why destroy it by using abrasive techniques to 'polish' the skin, or chronically exfoliating it with acid and alcohol forms of vitamins (retinoic acid and retinol)? Vitamin A: Vitamin A is the “skin vitamin” essential to all skin care regimens. It is used in the form of retinyl palmitate, retinyl acetate, retinol, retinyl propionate and beta-carotene.

Scientifically known as the skin “normalizer,” it helps to prevent and improve the look of photo-aging by visibly increasing hydration, helping with the appearance of lax, discolored, unhealthy skin.

A proprietary step-up system of increasing strengths of vitamin A helps to acclimate the skin to the lower levels of vitamin A before moving on to the higher dose products.

Vitamin C: Intensive vitamin C, in addition to being a free radical scavenger, helps to play an important role in decreasing the look of lax skin and uneven skin tone. Environ® has pioneered the use of a stabilized, gentle, patented and highly efficacious, fat soluble form of vitamin C.

Hyaluronic Acid: Hyaluronic Acid has been scientifically shown to hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water and is known to play a vital role in the aging process. It helps to boost the effects of increased hydration levels, thereby smoothing and plumping the appearance of the skin.

Antioxidants: Free radical scavengers in the form of natural antioxidant vitamins C, E, B5, beta-carotene and resveratrol help to counteract the look of damage caused by free radicals.

Biopeptides and Polypeptides such as Dermaxyl®, Matrixyl®, Argireline®, Trylagen® and others have been scientifically proven to be effective in assisting to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Working in synergy with vitamins A, C and E, they help to increase the appearance of firmer, more radiant, resiliently younger-looking skin.

Panthenol Pro-vitamin B5 is used to help boost the effect of the waterproof barrier of the skin, assist in protecting against the effects of free radicals and reduce the problems associated with clogging.

Growth Factors: Growth Factors help by assisting in the look of firmer and healthier skin.

AHAs and BHAs Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids help to minimize the signs of aging by gently exfoliating dry, flaky skin, smoothing the look of skin and increasing effectiveness of ingredients

This depends on the condition of an individual’s skin. If you have sensitive skin, no matter the age, start on the Skin Essentia AVST line. If you are sensitive AND have signs of irritation and/or inflammation (rosacea, acne, acne prone, eczema) you should start with the AVST Gel. If you are not sensitive and have advanced signs of aging and photo-damage, start with the Youth Essentia C-Quence 1 serum. If you have gradual signs of aging and photo-damage, start with the Skin Essentia AVST 1.

For most you will transition to the next step up once you finish the product level you are on. Example, once you run out of AVST 1, you should step-up to the AVST 2. This will continue until you reach the highest dosed moisturizer in either the AVST or C-Quence range. The only time you would not step-up and stay on the same level moisturizer is when the skin shows signs that it has not adjusted to the level of vitamin A in the product. This will be apparent by redness or irritation. This does not happen often.
