What to Expect During Colon Therapy

Our certified, professionally trained, licensed therapists perform this treatment in a private clean room. Each client lies on their back for a relaxed and comfortable session. There is no pain involved. All of our instruments and supplies are sterilized and disposable for your optimum safety. During this service, warm filtered water is gently infused into the colon while your therapist uses special massage techniques to stimulate the release of accumulated matter. Frequently Asked Questions About Colonic Hydrotherapy

What is a colonic?
During this service, warm filtered water is gently infused into the colon while your therapist uses special massage techniques on the abdomen and certain pressure points on the right leg to stimulate the release of accumulated matter. The entire system is enclosed and all waste matter is removed. Colon hydrotherapy is odorless, and the client's dignity is assured. It is a very gentle procedure. We apply castor oil, heat, and a specific colon massage during each session, which makes the colon cleanse more relaxing and more effective.

Why colon hydrotherapy?
A healthy colon and diet are essential for a healthy strong balanced body, energy, beauty, and perfect weight. Conventional diets, stress, anxiety, and inadequate exercise can contribute to problems associated with the large intestine. Improper elimination of undigested food material due to an atonic (sluggish) colon can result in increased bacteria and toxins in the body which can manifest into acne, chronic fatigue, halitosis, headaches, skin rashes, lower back pain, and weight gain. Colon hydrotherapy helps improve healthy bowel movements significantly.

Most common symptoms of a dysfunctional colon are:
Constipation, bloated feeling, slight to severe constipation

Fatigue, inability to lose weight, feeling moody and/or depressed
      Carbohydrate and sweet cravings

What else does a colonic improve?
Colon hydrotherapy will help to relieve constipation, relieve feeling bloated, detoxify the liver, help people to lose weight, benefit women with frequent yeast and urinary tract infections, help psoriasis conditions to get better, improve one's energy level, reduce food cravings, help alleviate mood swings and depression, help to improve acid reflux conditions, and make your skin look better. Colon hydrotherapy will, overall, make you feel and look better and slimmer with radiant skin, especially when combined with a balanced healthy eating pattern. Colon hydrotherapy should always be combined with proper nutritional counseling, as well as a good cleansing supplemental program. The skin is the second largest elimination organ. If there are problems with your skin, it is a sign that your first largest elimination organ, the colon, is overloaded.

Does colon hydrotherapy help you to lose weight?
Yes, it does. Typically people who cannot lose weight have a sluggish colon, and their metabolisms may be slowed down due to constipation. A series of colonics is a "must" in assistance to any weight loss program.

        Do colonics hurt?
No, you barely feel anything, and the treatment is actually quite relaxing. There are moments during the colonics where you have the feeling of needing to go to the bathroom which passes when the pressure is released.

How will I feel after colon therapy?
Most clients report feeling lighter, uplifted, cleansed, less bloated, and happier. In the beginning, one might feel a little tired and may want to take it easy. After the colon is cleansed, clients feel energized and good. It is advisable to go home, rest, and take it easy, especially when you first start a cleansing protocol.

How frequently should I have a colonic?
It is recommended to have an initial series of six to 12 (or more) colonics performed at one week intervals. Years of constipation cannot be reversed in only one or two visits. It takes a person six to 12 colonics to see the plaque loosen up and be eliminated. It also depends on the client's eating habits, past history, and age.

Can I have a colonic when I have my period?
Yes. Colonics actually help with PMS and cramping.

How should I prepare myself before a colon cleanse?
Have a light breakfast and or lunch before your colon hydrotherapy session. Leave three hours between your meal and the actual colonic so you don't come in on a full stomach. Juices and water are okay. Eat a light vegetarian dinner the night before your treatment.

Can I have a colon hydrotherapy session when I am pregnant?
Yes, one can do gentle colonics during pregnancy but not in the first trimester. Ideally work with a colon hydrotherapist who has administered colon hydrotherapy to pregnant women in the past.

What kind of equipment should one look for?
        Disposable speculums.

What kind of colon hydrotherapist should one look for?

Your therapist should have multiple years of experience, with nutritional and supplemental expertise. They should be able to guide you in a lifestyle change as well as performing the service.
