New Attitude, New Look
Rewards are an important part of reaching your goal.
To help Renee celebrate her sleek new physique,
Shape flew her to New York for a day of beauty at Paul Labrecque Salon &
Spa. Read on for our behind-the-scenes scoop.
Flattering, Fuss-Free Hair.
Hairstylist Adolfo started by snipping in layers around Renee's crown. "This
creates volume on top, which can make you look longer and leaner," he
explains. Next he added highlights, going just two shades lighter than
Renee's natural color. "That way her roots will blend in as her hair grows
out," Adolfo says. At home Renee can maintain her new do by working a pump
of mousse, such as Paul Labrecque Color Style Fade Prevention Foam ($22)
through her tresses and letting them air-dry for a sexy, tousled style.
Finishing Touches
To make Renee's eyes pop, makeup director Taymour swept Nars Single eye
Shadow in Tibet ($21 a shimmery white shade, under her brow lines, and New
York ($21), a plum-brown hue, in the creases. Then he line the top
lids with black Kiss ME eyeliner ($25) and coated lashes with black Kiss Me
mascara. After that, Taymour accented the inside rims of Renee's bottom lids
with Nars eyeliner pencil in Parrot Cay ($18.50). "The light green
offsets redness and makes her eyes appear larger, so they attract more
attention," he says. A dusting of Nars blush in Sertao ($25) and a swipe of
Cle de Peau Beaute lipstick in #11 ($55), both neutral hues, complete
Renee's fresh-faced makeover.
